Old Polish saying
Good Russian (TM) fury

Navalny got poisoned for challenging Putin. How has he helped Ukraine?
It goes to show the depths of immorality some *friends of Ukraine* have reached by now and raises nagging questions about the West’s goals in this conflict.

Is it really about liberal-democratic values or is it just the same old-school *geopolitics* as Putin’s?
You vicious Good Russian (TM). Condescending arrogant and violantly angry at being contradicted.
He insta blocked me.
Good Russian (TM) reaction to my simple message. They don’t handle criticism well because they’re the real victims a#& always right. open.substack.com/pub/fallout/p/… @BuddNicholas Russia always appropriates its crimes from its victims to make itself the victim.

Old Polish saying: The Russian enemy of my Russian enemy is not my friend.
— Dustin Du Cane (@DustinDuCane) 11:58 AM ∙ Jan 30, 2023
I really can’t understand Russian logic. Leonid is ranting about poor Navalny’s feelings in his vicious life and death struggle with Putin. If he was a real threat and not an useful distraction, Navalny would be dead. I see a pretender to the throne, kept in a dungeon. He’s not going to become the Good Tsar (TM), he’s not a Mandela, more like the vicious patriot nationalist tsars and kings of yesteryear.
@leonidragozin Navalny is a political prisoner AND a Russian imperialist. They’re not mutually exclusive.

@leonidragozin Is this Russian logic? Whatever beef they have with Putin doesn't cancel out that he is an anti-Ukrainian and a Russian imperialist

@leonidragozin What has Navalny done for Ukraine? Because I see him fighting for power in Russia, maybe trying to fight corruption. A strong Russia with a clean army would crush its neighbors again. It happens time and time again in history. Rus corruption and decay saves its neighbors.

Update on date of publication
Team Navalny uses the naivete of Westerners including Europeans whose countries don’t neighbor Russia and American world viewpoint dichotomy (our friend or our enemy, enemy of my enemy is my friend) to manipulate their image of Navalny.
All they do is present Navalny as an enemy of Putin. Putin is made out to be a villain. Except Putin’s villainy is framed in his evil behavior towards Russians.
So Team Navalny logic is: Support Navalny because he opposes Putin who is evil towards Russians.
This unfortunately works with naive Europeans and Americans who make the mental jump to: ah, the guy fighting the bad guy must be good.
That’s not how it works. Especially in Russia. The guy fighting the bastard might turn out to be an even bigger son of a bitch. This happens time after time in Russian history.
It’s not Star Wars. Putin might be Palpatine but Navalny isn’t Luke.
Fascist imperialists like Navalny, war criminal mercenaries and fascist soldiers all prey on the basic pschological and emotional weakness of naivete when faced with Russian duplicity.
Tankies are the extreme victims of this naivete and dichotomy. They think USA bad, which it often is, therefore Russia, China, Iran and North Korea good. Absurdity.
Slavs and Balts just roll their eyes and reply to people like Leonid with anger and criticism, asking where’s Navalny’s sacrifice for them, not for rodina? Slavs and Balts don’t give him the benefit of the doubt and aren’t going to project their wishes on him. Because Russian rulers are invariably genocidal murderers or they’re killed by a genocidal pretender. No benefit of the doubt. No corruption-free Russia with a mighty empire conquering Europe and shooting people like me and my son in a forest.
