Brah

We are working on some projects, including Nazi magick.

Also, its nice that some people are too stupid to continue disguising their right-wing agenda, as with one obvious billionaire plant.

Transcript landing tomorrow.

Ben will be on a lengthy podcast next week and I think Phil also will be.

You’re a Nazi if you quote Marcus Aurelius to me and not a classical historian

Andrew “The Rapist” Tate talk about an intellectual ideology.

As someone who has covered and studied Stoicism for years now, I’ve noticed something strange happening. This ancient philosophy that was once a guide to living a good and fulfilled life has been co-opted by the manosphere and turned into snakeoil, sold as the magic pill to fame, fortune, and everything in between. My question is why stoicism? Out of all the other philosophies out there, why this one? In fact, why philosophy at all?

Here’s a piece to add to this

What Would Marcus Aurelius Think of Donald Trump?
Can we call Donald Trump “happy”? I think the clear answer is “no”…

From a real historian

I’m a bit worried about some of his comments though.

Some more actual history and philosophy and religion

Justin Sledge is currently a part-time professor of philosophy and religion at several institutions in the Metro-Detroit area and a popular local educator.

Did I mention my Fallout game project? Fallout the game, not some weird version of our substack

Funnily this connects with this.

My son is waiting for this

Speaking of pseudo-intellectual nostalgia and toxic culture funded with agendas, Youtube is suggesting lots of videos to me from bro geeks who spew shit about diversity being the problem with Ubisoft. The problem with Ubisoft is boring samey games. The fact Ubisoft defends itself by blaming toxic bro geeks slamming woke games is irrelevant. Diversity is not a problem with modern games. The problem is chasing the live service crack pipe. Nothing to do with woke.

Speaking of Japan, I love this positive lady

Speaking of Asia

Michael Sheridan is the Author of a new history of Hong Kong and China, and has a new book out called “The Red Emperor – Xi Jinping and his China”. He is a long-time foreign correspondent in Asia, Middle East, and Europe. He was the Far East Correspondent for the Sunday Times for 20 years, based in Hong Kong, and later Bangkok. He covered the rise of China and the handover of Hong Kong, upheaval in Burma and the fall of Suharto in Indonesia.

Speaking of Russia and dictators

Trump Can Still Win
I’ve got a bad feeling. And it’s getting worse: Trump is gonna win. I don’t know for certain and this could just be a case of the heebie-jeebies, but I think I have a few actual reasons to worry.—

This is a great piece with a moving poem

Sunday Pages: "In Memoriam"
Dear Reader,

Damn woke

In this episode of Parallax Views w/ J.G. Michael, host J.G. Michael interviews sociologist Musa al-Gharbi about his upcoming book We Have Never Been Woke: The Cultural Contradictions of a New Elite. The conversation focuses on the woke vs. anti-woke culture wars, exploring the work of French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu and his concept of symbolic capital. Al-Gharbi explains how symbolic capital, a form of social and cultural influence, plays a crucial role in shaping the ideologies and actions of today’s elites in the woke debates. And he does not limit this to people who define themselves as "woke", but also those who define themselves as "anti-woke". This hopefully insightful discussion sheds light on the contradictions and complexities of the cultural elite and their influence on modern political and cultural discourse. If you're interested in understanding the deeper sociological factors driving the woke vs. anti-woke divide, this episode may be of interest.
