Podcasts, videos, books and tweets of the week 26 and some Lviv pictures

Last set of pictures for last day in Lviv.

Lviv station is rather old and neglected. It will look a lot better one day, after the war and when Lviv is in the EU.

I wonder what my grandma thought leaving Lviv so long ago.

The family story is the train took weeks to get to Poland.

I took me two hours with a long stop at the border which made me miss my connecting train at Przemysl.

Przemysl station is old school!

There’s a help point for refugees tucked away.

Much more civilized than the frankly atrocious Western Bus Station in Warsaw I was at today - which looks like something from Children of Men. Godawful and scary.

Phil is recuperating and finishing the Wittmann book.

I think they recorded an episode of Adjutants Lounge on Friday with Ben.

This substack is now six months old.

I started it because of frustration and anguish.

Both over the war and the loss of my dog.

I wrote two articles for substack at the vets during her last days.

My new doggie is recuperating after elective surgery today and I love him very much.

Just came back from snowboarding, which was painful and difficult after my December accident. But I had to!

The Adjutants Lounge Audio
Listen now (58 min) | Welcome to the next instalment of the Adjutants lounge, where you can listen to the ramblings from the Fallout Triumvirate. This week Phil and Ben are joined by Dustin, fresh from his recent visit to Ukraine. We also discuss the similarities to the current Russian war of attrition, which echoes Winfield Scott’s Anaconda Plan. OSINT, unfounded fear and NA…

And Phil put his thoughts down as well. We have been saying there are manpower issues since last year…

Putin's Anaconda Plan: One Year On
Putin’s Anaconda Plan: One Year On Image: Aljazeera News/Institute for the Study of War Just under a year ago (24 March 2022 to be precise), I wrote that Putin’s strategy had formed an ‘Anaconda Plan’. This was not an endorsement of the Russian way of war, but an objective assessment based upon known facts. I will reiterate once again: I do not support Ru…

There was a huge outbreak yesterday of similar posts about the war being a fake…

Tell that to the refugees I meet every day.

Must remember to do this and report

Definitely not a subject done to death and needing another rehash of the same nonsense. Not a book of the week.
