More transcribes on the way

Phil is dealing with his family and finishing up the Aachen book.

Ben is writing a hundred books.

I’m suing big companies.

The US has reprieved Ukraine until the end of the year, but the war isn’t being won. It just won’t be lost by Ukraine by summer.

We at Fallout and even before Fallout existed never said Ukraine has won.

Hearing Ukraine has won, starting from February 2022 is one of the reasons we wrote our book.

Only NATO intervention, real sanctions i.e. cutting off all fossil fuels and actually seizing assets especially of Russian thief oligarchs and/or massive aid, not the pittance Ukraine got, would have won the war. By now Rheinmetall and ThyssenKrupp should have been nationalised and producing shells and weapons exclusively for Ukraine. Not for Europe. Not for regimes as bad as Putin’s.

Shortage of artillery shells
This is a key article from our past, predating Fallout. and a follow on article: We knew artillery would be decisive in Ukraine. It usually is in war. Or you can ask John “I saved Ukraine by telling Ukrainians to drink their own piss” Spencer or Mike “Ukraine doesn’t need artillery” Martin what they they think is key. Probably urban combat and cyber.

This guy should have been sent to Bakhmut back when it was in Ukrainian hands, along with his bosses, “It is possible to produce and deliver this amount of shells, even if it takes a bit longer.

Complacency was always going to be an issue with Europe and to be honest, some Ukrainians. I remember a lady on Twitter saying on 28 Feb that Ukraine had won the war. She deleted that or I can’t find it. Anyway, plenty of the similar can still be found. And this guy who usually had some interesting views but was wrong. So wrong.

Turning to others, complacency and racism amongst academics and named analysts going Russia stupid, Russia dumb, what has Russia ever invented led to idiots making fortunes spouting nonsense while Ukraine died. Their bullshit fed complacency amongst the European public and political classes. If Ukraine has won and Putin and Russia stupid, why fucking spend on weaponry. Let them defeat Russia with beetroot, Russian tanks are so bad, and they’ve lost so many.

Hell, it can just take a ‘little longer’, you imbecile. Can you guess how angry I am the man that used that phrase? PR weasel.

Inflating counts of Russian dead and destroyed weaponry didn’t help Ukraine convince the West to send weapons. They’re doing fine destroying stupid Russian tanks with beetroot rockets and pluck.

Keeping Ukraine’s own losses secret was counterproductive in the same way. Post Soviet lack of confidence, Slavic cynicism and basic intelligence make people think the worst, that’s what anecdotally I hear.

Phil predicted or forecasted Putin strangling Ukraine

Putin's Anaconda Plan: One Year On
Putin’s Anaconda Plan: One Year On Image: Aljazeera News/Institute for the Study of War Just under a year ago (24 March 2022 to be precise), I wrote that Putin’s strategy had formed an ‘Anaconda Plan’. This was not an endorsement of the Russian way of war, but an objective assessment based upon known facts. I will reiterate once again: I do not support Ru…

Ukraine is fighting a ferocious war and losing. In a genocidal conflict, losing has grave consequences for national survival and existence. Neither Russia nor Ukraine can contemplate a strategic compromise, the outcome can only be unconditional where extinction to either side is a very real prospect. This has transformed the war into a holy struggle, there can only be an unholy outcome.

Look, you can either read grifters who think they can imagine what Putin, Saddam, Kim Jong Il or whoever, is thinking. Or worse they think what they’d do in a situation.

Or you can look at trends, history and doctrine and figure out what is likely. Write about the consequences.

Don’t write bullshit about Prigozhin’s coup because you don’t know shit what’s happening.

When the shi* goes down, ya better be ready

Velina was my favorite bullshit artist in the above post.

Meanwhile, somebody figured out Prigozhin was dead. In March 2023. I didn’t know when it would happen but it seemed likely. This was while he was running a key part of the Russian war. Why did I know he would die? Because he was running a key part of the Russian war and getting too loud and important and self-important. I shut the fuck up during the later coup because I knew I couldn’t forecast during a chaotic event, unlike every grifter who went into horoscope mode. I don’t shotgun a load of predictions hoping one will become true.

Anyway, that’s a status report.

Meanwhile, my son does his Holocaust school report using books my friends wrote.

Wow.

I didn’t think I’d be here three years ago!

Wow.

That’s the good news.

Interesting Holocaust talk

Beginning in late 1940, over three thousand Jewish girls and young women were forced from their family homes in Sosnowiec, Poland, and its surrounding towns to worksites in the Sudetenland, in today’s Czech Republic. Believing that they were helping their families to survive, these young people were thrust into a world where they laboured at textile work for twelve hours a day, lived in barracks with little food, and received only periodic news of events back home. By late 1943, their barracks had been transformed into concentration camps, where they were held until liberation in 1945.

Binkov is always interesting

What an useful distraction for Netanyahu.

Prigozhin’s ancestors.

AI bullshit bubble

Nvidia the next Cisco.

This is so wonderful and uplifting

Have a listen, loud.

Somehow he manages to mention the US more than Israel

On this edition of Parallax Views, Sean Tomilson, a PhD candidate in Middle Eastern and North African Studies at the University of Arizona, a graduate of West Point, and a U.S. Army veteran, joins the show to discuss his March 2024 Responsible Statecraft piece entitled "What the French evisceration of Algeria has to do with Gaza today".

Not a great speaker, but some important points on how destroying the village doesn’t save the village.

Could have been said better, but have a listen.

Madison Grant

Rich white American bastard. Blue blood fascist, racist and anti-semite.

Alex from the excellent podcast, 12 Rules for What, returns to TENE pod to tell the unfortunate story of conservationist, eugenicist, and human-zoo keeper Madison Grant, his supporters in the U.S. patrician class, and his brief but definitive moment in the Nazi limelight

Our book is still out

Phil has a new book coming out soon
