Bad history video of the week

Yes, the Byzantines stopped losing because they stood in a square with magic fire catapults in the middle.

Because their enemies were idiots and didn’t adapt.

History isn’t RTS. Enemies adapt.

The Roman Republic/Empire lasted two millenia by adapting. Not by having one type of tactic.

Same as in Ukraine, both sides are adapting. Not by using one magic tactic.

Greek fire. The magic bullet.

What nonsense.

You know what the mobile enemies the Byzantines faced would have done against a square constantly adopted against them? They would have eventually learnt to murder it with mobile archers. Come in, fire and run away before the Byzantines could shoot back.

One formation doesn’t win battles. Even the most stupid and worst enemies learn in time. The Spartan phalanx, the Macedonian phalanx, the Roman line, the knightly charge, the English longbowman, the Spanish and Swiss squares, the Swedish lines, the Polish hussar, the Prussian oblique, the Napoleonic column, the Rebel Slaver charge, the German panzer envelopment, the NATO air supremacy, it all has a counter and it always need to develop.

Bad history.

Speaking of bad history

I’ve been negative on the Ukrainian counteroffensive but maybe its finally achieving results. I hope so, despite the West scandalously starving Ukraine of resources. FFS, the West could reindustrialise based on weapons production for Ukraine but somehow can’t do it.

What a ridiculous moustache bruv. Also ISW, yeah, not fond of them but I’m waiting for a Perun video.

Book of the week

From 2020 and it does contain a bunch of America rararara tip of the spear multi-realm holistic hybrid nonsense jargon.

PS Telenko is still an idiot and a MAGA head.

And ‘Igor Sushko’, whoever he is, a liar, fraudster and grifter.
